Some Squarespace templates have a feature called 'AJAX'. It is supposed to offer an improved experience with smooth page transitions but causes issues with third party plugins like ours.
You will notice this is a problem for you if you're having to refresh the page to get Event Calendar App to load.
There are two solutions to this:
- Turn off ajax on your site
- Add some extra code to your site to support ECA + Squarespace AJAX
1) Turn off ajax on your site
This can be done very easily, specific instructions from Squarespace can be found here:
Here’s the exact instructions that matter:
"In the Home Menu, click Design, and then click Site Styles.
Scroll down to Site: Loading.
Check or uncheck Enable Ajax Loading."
2) Add some extra code to your site to support ECA + Squarespace AJAX
Note: Unfortunately this requires a Business plan with Squarespace. However, if you have a Business plan, read on.
We are able to generate some code that you add to your Squarespace to fix this issue. Unfortunately, we don't currently have an automated way to do this, but get in touch using contact button and I'll get straight back to you.
Once you've got the code, in your Squarespace editor click Settings => Advanced => Code Injection.
You should then be on a page that contains this:
Paste the code we sent you into the footer section. And click save.
All done. You're Event Calendar should now load perfectly, every time.
